I’ve Always Dreamed Of Being In The Army

Ever since I can remember I’ve wanted to join the army. I’m not exactly sure what made me so interested in it, but whatever it is I can’t seem to stop dreaming about it. I guess the satisfaction of knowing your fighting for millions of people gives me a sense of great satisfaction. It looks so demanding, but there’s nothing wrong with a little discipline right? I think some people are born into things, kind of like how some people are just meant to become something or someone special. Sort of like the Shamwow guy, ha-ha. No but seriously, back to seriousness, now with Bradley on the way I don’t think I could be away for that long. There are other services I’ve looked into that I can do to help others. Such as EMS and fire fighting. I know it’s not the dream job I’ve always wanted but sometimes in life you just have to put things off for another time, and work hard to get where you want to be. Someday I hope to be in the army fighting for our freedom and the safety of our families and those to come.

Thanksgiving At The Lugossy’s

Just to clear things up, my dad’s last name is Lugossy ha-ha, for those that didn’t know. Anyways, this past weekend was thanksgiving! I was so excited to eat; I couldn’t stop thinking about food. It was so delicious, no even better, it was scrumptious. I love my grandmas cooking so much. My whole dad’s side is from Hungary (which makes me, Hungarian), so they make a really different variety of foods compared to here in Canada. Of course we had turkey. What kind of thanksgiving would that be with out turkey? Along with that we had a bunch of foods inspired from down there. Such as dumplings with pork sauce, cabbage rolls and stuffed peppers. So yummy I tell you. Bradley enjoyed it so much. I know he did, he told me. It’s times like this that make me grateful for my family, and all the small things I have. I can’t imagine not having them there with me. I’m the luckiest person in the world to have such a loving and caring family, and yes, even Cosmo got a little treat :)

Getting A Job Is Impossible.

Having a job right about now would be amazing. That extra income would make my parents so happy. I applied at many places and even got a few interviews. Everything was going great, up until the moment that I mentioned I was expecting a baby at the end of December. They froze up and asked me how old I was ( I know very well they can’t ask that question but to be polite I answered anyways) I proudly said 17, going on 18 in February. The look on the interviewers face was almost in disappointment. She looked at me and said; it’s very hard for us to employ pregnant teens. It made me feel so bad about myself. I knew I would run into some kind of problem down the road because of the situation I’m in, but for her to basically tell me ‘Sorry, your pregnant we can’t hire you’ made me just want to never apply anywhere again. I understand its a safety thing and that I can’t do all the things they would need me to do. I just wish they understood how much it would help me and my family out. I don’t want to struggle and most of all I want Bradley to have a great life and never have to worry about these kinds of things, let mommy do all the worrying.

Things I Miss Doing

Even though I am only 2 months away from meeting my little boy, these past seven months have been so very long. Of course, when you become pregnant there are a long list of things, and foods you just can’t mix with. The thing I miss the most are rollercoaster’s. When summer would begin I knew I had to get my seasons pass to wonderland and ride every single coaster about a trillion times. Okay maybe a little over exaduration, but just a little bit, ha-ha. It’s a very small sacrifice in my book; I’d give up anything for Bradley. I really miss playing hockey too, the smell of fresh ice gets me every time. Maybe one day my son and I can play hockey together. Obviously he will have all star hockey legs. Food isn’t so much of an issue, because as long as there isn’t any alcohol in it, it’s okay. Eating healthy can sometimes be a Hassel; I do miss eating junk food. Who am I kidding, I indulge every once in a while.

Social Workers

I have a couple of friends who dream of one day becoming successful social workers. I think it’s a great career. In my experience, I’ve come across some really nosy workers. I am defiantly not saying all workers are the same, but there are exceptions. The other day my English teacher brought in a social worker. The things she was saying were of course informative, but I did catch her in telling us things that just didn’t fit. One being, about how self infliction is not in any way a form of suicide. Well, guess what I googled it and I did some research and yes, it is. I’m not one to say I know everything, but wouldn’t you be upset if she was giving you false information? I know that no one in this world is perfect, and that it takes a lot of courage to talk in front of classes. I just can’t stand them, especially now, knowing that since I am a teen mom I’m going to have regular visits to see “ how mommy and baby are holding up”. It’s insulting. It will be a struggle at first being a young mom but I most certainly don’t need social workers barging into my life at home.

Anxiety And Pregnancy

Ever since I was about fifteen years of age I developed a sudden panic disorder. For anyone who doesn’t exactly know what this is, it’s very common among teens and young adults. Having a panic disorder is like living in constant fear all day long. I have several attacks a day for no apparent reason. I can honestly say it’s the scariest thing anyone would ever have to go through. You have no control over your own thoughts, feelings and simply just your existence on this very planet. Over these past years, I have also developed another disorder called dedramatisation, This kind of disorder is when I cannot find a balance between reality and dreams. I often have periods of days or weeks where I feel detached from the life that I wish I was living. It’s terrifying. The thing about all of this is that I can not seek medical help. Sure I can talk to someone but these types of things can actually cause depression. Witch can be very serious. Ever since I have fallen pregnant it has gotten worse, because of the simple fact that I am worrying about raising my son. I know in time my problems will get better, but for the time being it’s like living in a horror film that just never ends, the only happiness I seem to find is looking at Bradley’s ultrasounds, that always makes me smile.
